about

After listening to "Operator" by Alexis Korner featuring Robert Plant, I was feeling inspired. There is a bit of Peter Green's "The World Keep On Turning" and some Robert Johnson, too. I recorded the guitar on the first take. For lyrics, I thought of a chat that I had with a friend the previous night. "I have got to try to sleep. These four hour sleep nights are killing me."

lyrics

I'm so tired, I can barely see.
I'm so tired, I can barely see.
I think these long nights, baby, they might just be killing me.

I keep falling asleep in the middle of things.
I keep falling asleep in the middle of things.
Only way I stay up, mama, is to play the blues while I sing.

I think these long nights are killing me.
These long nights, they are killing me.
Ain't but my own fault, baby... staying up talking to you 'til 3.
